In Georgia, you generally must respond to requests for admission within 30 days after service of the requests for admission (O.C.G.A. § 9-11-36(a)(1)).

How the deadline works
Under O.C.G.A. § 9-11-36(a)(1), the response to requests for admission is due within 30 days after service of the requests for admission. A defendant need not respond before 45 days after service of the summons and complaint. A motion to dismiss filed before or at the time of answering automatically stays discovery for 90 days or until the court rules, whichever is sooner, and extends this deadline by the length of the stay (O.C.G.A. § 9-11-12(j), SB 68 (2025)) — this calculator does NOT account for that stay. When the triggering paper is served by mail, O.C.G.A. § 9-11-6(e) adds 3 days for service by mail or e-mail. A deadline landing on a weekend or court holiday moves to the next business day.
