How the deadline works
Under Md. Rule 2-424(b), the response to requests for admission is due within 30 days after service of the requests for admission. Or 15 days after the party’s initial pleading/motion is due, whichever is later. When the triggering paper is served by mail, Rule 1-203(c) adds 3 days for service by mail. A deadline landing on a weekend or court holiday moves to the next business day.
- Served by mail? Rule 1-203(c) adds 3 days for service by mail. Select “Service by mail” above and the calculator applies it.
